Drivers from all over the region, from tracks big and small, and from dirt and asphalt, will converge at one place on January 3rd and 4th. It’s an event that is similar to a race meet, but without four corners and the scurrying preparation to get the car ready for hot laps. That place is the Midwest Racers’ Expo, which is a great opportunity to get drivers together and discuss next year’s plans.
The two day racing event will commence Friday, January 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in a retired Janesville Wisconsin Menards building located right next to the I-90 & 39 interstate, and resume on Saturday, January 4th at 8:00 am. Series meetings take place on Saturday.
“It may be difficult at times to get drivers to schedule a day to meet during the offseason, but we felt like this was a good opportunity to coordinate with our teams regarding the schedule and rules for our 2014 season,” commented TUNDRA Super Late Model Series public relations coordinator Matt Panure. “It’s nice to meet up with the drivers away from the track and discuss any topics they would like to visit prior to the season,” concluded Panure.
Day two of the Expo begins Saturday, January 4th at 8:00 a.m., when doors open to the public for auction item inspection, and conducting business with exhibitors at the performance trade show. The consignment auction starts at 9:00 a.m., and series meetings get underway at 11:00 starting with the Mid-American Stock Car Series. The I.M.C.A. Old Timers Series promptly follows at Noon. The state’s newest series, the Great Northern Sportsmen Series, also known as GNSS, will meet at 1:00. The final series meeting of the day is scheduled for 2:00, and will feature the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series. The racers’ auction and trade show continues all day, with the Trade Show closing at 6:00 and the auction lasting until the final consigned item has been sold.
Additional time slots are available for any series or race track that is interested in having a meeting. Those interested in more information about a group meeting at the Midwest Racers’ Expo are encouraged to call 815-703-0285 for more information.
The Midwest Racers’ Expo will be held January 3rd and 4th at the former Menards Building, at 2700 N. Pontiac Drive, Janesville, Wisconsin. The facility is conveniently held adjacent to I-39 & 90 exit 171. Plenty of free parking is available right on site.
